Southwest Arts Festival
January 28-30, 2011

Taking place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, located just three miles from AJV West, the Southwest Arts Festival features over 200 artists. Come celebrate the 25th anniversary of this wonderful event. From painting to pottery to sculpture, you'll find beautiful and unique examples of southwest art to enjoy for years to come.

Desert Classic Concours D'Elegance
February 26-27, 2011

This one is a must see for me! I'm a big fan of classic cars and could be around them all day. AJV West is just about 6 miles away from the La Quinta Resort and Club where the concours will be taking place this year after moving from Palm Springs.
In addition to the Concours the weekend of February 19-20, 2011 will feature the first annual vintage car races at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. For more information about the events click here.

BNP Paribas Open
March 7 - 20, 2011

Julie and I went to the 2009 and 2010 editions and had a great time. Each year just seems to get better. It's a great events that attracts the top players in the game. Both years I was lucky enough to see matches with Nadal, Federer, Blake, and more. Who knows what this year's event holds for you tennis fans out there.

La Quinta Arts Festival
March 10-13, 2011

This festival, the 29th annual, coincides with the BNP Paribas Open and when you're not taking in the action of the tennis matches why not take a trip over to see and possibly buy some art. Julie and I have found many items over the years at various arts festivals and enjoy going to every one.

Indian Wells Arts Festival
April 1-3 2011

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is also the site of the Indian Wells Arts Festival. Art is a big thing in the desert and it's one of my favorite pastimes when I'm in the area. There are quite a few galleries in the area that I make sure to visit. There are several very good galleries on El Paseo in Palm Desert but festivals like this is a place to enjoy even more art than usual.
